My name is Pedro Vargas and i’m a physical education teacher, blogger, photographer and travel videographer.
It all started on the last day of 2015 when my last wish in the new year´s countdown was that in 2016 I would make the turn of my life. Not that I had much to complain about, I loved my job (Physical Education Teacher), my friends, my family, my fantastic Portugal, but I felt that something was missing … I felt limited, in a prison by free will … And this feeling grew in me day after day.
And naturally, on a random night, a few minutes after watching the movie “Into the Wild” for the first time, on a liberation impulse, i bought a one way ticket to Thailand. Without thinking about the consequences!
And from here began the adventure. I applied for an unpaid license to the Ministry of Education, which was only accepted three weeks before departure!
So I began my trip around the world, unplanned. A week before the trip, I had only made the necessary vaccination for Asia.
Just with a backpack, during the first month of my trip, i traveled with four girls from Lisbon, on holiday in Southeast Asia, and then I went on my own. With no defined route, I planned the trip from the country where I was to the next country, with the precious help of hundreds of travel bloggers from around the world. Without them, this trip around the world would have been possible, but much more difficult.
I lived in a Buddhist temple in Myanmar, visited the 7 Wonders of the Modern World, climbed mountains in Timor-Leste, Indonesia and Peru, participated in Hindu ceremonies in Malaysia, surfed the waves of Indonesia, dived with sharks in Thailand, slept in the deserts of Jordan , explored the cenotes in Mexico, traveled in Japan by bicycle, there were so many adventures that changed my life forever …
All these adventures were marked by a particularity: before leaving, i promised to my students that i would do an “handstanding” in all the places where i was going, and I would put the photography in the social networks so that they could follow my trip. I can say at this point that i am the first man who did an “Handstand” in the all the 7 Wonders of the Modern World in just 5 months hehehe (pride).
Returning to Portugal, after 9 months of traveling, i decided to share my experiences and, this time, was me, helping other travelers. Then, i created the Pedro Vargas 360 Travel blog, where I share my trip 360 degrees around the world.
In this blog, in addition to my personal experiences, i also seek to complement information that i collect through research and sharing experiences of traveling friends, useful for those who are travelling or planning to travel.
If you have comments, suggestions or questions send me an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org). I will be glad to help.
